| RULES |
| 1. This is an all release billfish
tournament. All IGFA (International Game Fishing Association) Rules apply
when hooking, fighting and releasing all billfish. |
| 2. Tackle is to be a 20lb maximum
rating for all main line. All leaders to be a maximum of 15feet. |
| 3. ONLY ZERO OFFSET CIRCLE HOOKS
can be used. |
| 4. 6 lines maximum in the water
per boat. |
| 5. There is no chumming of any
sort during fishing hours. |
| 6. Bait fishing will be allowed
during fishing hours. |
| 7. Tournament Channel 82, alternate
80. |
| 8. Any boat may and can be subject
to an observer. |
| 9. Observers will be assigned
each morning from 6:30am – 7:00am. All observers will be picked up
at Grove Harbor Marina. |
| 10. Check out will be by the
Dinner Key Headpin Marker at 7:00am each morning. Each boat will have to
show their boat number to the check out boat, as well as by radio confirmation. |
| 11. Fishing Hours are Friday
8am – 4pm and Saturday 8am – 3pm. |
| 12. There are NO fishing boundaries. |
| 13. All billfish releases must
be called in by radio (CHANNEL 82, alt. 80), at which time you will be given
a confirmation number for each fish. |
| 14. All billfish are to be photographed
by digital cameras with date and time stamp. Procedure each day will be
a designated picture of the day, followed by your first billfish of the
day. Take break pictures in between each fish. Make sure the committee can
recognize the billfish 100%, take multiple pictures if necessary. |
| 15. NO PHOTO NO FISH. |
| 16. All qualifying billfish
must be caught by tournament registered anglers. |
| 17. Multiple billfish may be
fought by a single unaided angler, IGFA Rules apply. |
| 18. For an official release,
any person can touch the leader or the angler can touch the tip of the rod
with the float/swivel. |
| 19. All billfish are 100 points |
| 20. All signed catch cards and cameras must be turned in by hand at Grove Harbor Marina by 5:30pm on Friday and 4:30 pm on Saturday, by a registered angler or captain of the boat. |
| 21. Protests are to be presented
in writing by 5:30pm on Friday and 4:30pm on Saturday. |
| 22. Polygraphs will be given.
All registered anglers, captains and mates must willingly submit to this
polygraph. |
| 23. All registered anglers,
captains and mates must know all the rules. |
